Our HOLOTOUR stop in Szczecin has been making waves! Our visit to the Pomeranian Medical University attracted the attention of both industry and local media. Our Mobile 3D Medical Visualization Lab was featured in outlets such as Rynek Zdrowia, the Nauka w Polsce service, and the Infodent24 portal, while camera crews from TVP3 Szczecin and Radio Szczecin stopped by to see us in action.

Five days of medicine in three dimensions
From October 19 to 23, 2026, we brought HOLOTOUR to the Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin. A total of 92 students took part in workshops conducted in both Polish and English. Participants had the opportunity to experience firsthand what it’s like to work with interactive anatomical models using VR headsets and 3D monitors.
Students examined skull and chest cavity models from various perspectives, performed virtual cross-sections, and analyzed the positioning of individual structures.

3D visualization in the education of future medical professionals
The HOLOTOUR visit to PMU was initiated by the Student Scientific Circle of General and Transplant Surgery and Professor Jerzy Sieńko, Head of the Department of General, Transplant, and Liver Surgery at PMU.
"We have the opportunity to benefit from the latest achievements in Polish technological innovation (...)" – the professor said in an interview with PAP.
Our visualizations are based on data from CT and MRI scans. By using AI, we isolate organs, tissues, and layers, which the instructor can then reveal or hide within the spatial model. This allows students to learn the structure of the body step-by-step and see how individual components relate to one another.
Student voices
Workshop participants shared their impressions in a report by TVP3 Szczecin. Kamil Nycz, a fourth-year medical student at PMU, described working with a detailed 3D model of the chest cavity. Beyond viewing it from different angles, they were able to look inside:
"We were able to cut through it from different sides."
Julia Pacholczyk, also a fourth-year student, noted how spatial visualizations help her when observing surgeries later on:
"Later, when I go into surgery, I’m already able to visualize what is located where."

Thank you, Szczecin!
We would like to thank the Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin for their hospitality and cooperation in organizing this visit. We thank all the participants for their time in the Lab and their interest in our solutions, and we thank the media outlets for their interest in HOLOTOUR and for sharing our work with their audiences.
See you at the next HOLOTOUR stops!
